Northeast Iron Pot Stew (铁锅炖)
The signature dish of Jilin Province — slow-cooked meat, tofu, glass noodles and vegetables in a massive iron pot, served steaming at the table. Deeply warming after a day on the slopes. A uniquely Northeast China experience.

Volcanic Rock BBQ (火山岩烤肉)
Meat grilled on heated iron plates made from Changbai Mountain volcanic rock, which locks in juices. Located on Commercial Street opposite Hannashan Hot Spring. Great for post-hot-spring dinners. Staff will help grill if you're unsure how.

Korean-Style Cuisine
Given Changbaishan's location on the Chinese-North Korean border, Korean-influenced food is genuinely local here — not imported. Expect bibimbap, Korean BBQ, and cold noodles alongside Chinese staples. Several restaurants on the food street specialise in this.

Chinese Skewers & Street Food
Chuanr (串) — thin skewers of marinated lamb, chicken, and vegetables grilled over charcoal with cumin and chilli — are a Chinese street food institution. The Wanda food street has multiple stalls firing these up every evening. Kids absolutely love them.
